We wish to thank everybody who got involved in the Living in Harmony project ran by Reledev over the year 2008. You all did a great job!

1. YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

39 women participanted in YLP (29 participated in community service projects). We were aiming for 40 women to participate. This is an excellent outcome no less.

2. MONTHLY COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS

Monthly community service projects in the East and West Sydney areas provided an opportunity for cross-cultural exchange while doing something good. We held 14 community projects in all (our target being 12 projects) with the participation of 123 women (our target being 120). Participants provided diverse services and held activities for intellectually disabled adults, the elderly, migrants, physically disabled persons, refugees, issues facing young adults, etc.

It was all great fun and good work.

3. HARMONY DAY

A celebration of Australian values with light and special supper was held in July. Some 60 persons attended. There was a sharing of experiences in terms of community service projects and initiatives.

4. LINKING THE FUTURE SEMINAR

A half-day seminar for people involved with the youth of today was held at the North Penrith Community Centre. The seminar showcased experiences and shared learning gained from the Youth Leadership Program and the community service projects. Some participants from YLP (young women leaders) also did presentations about their projects. A poster exhibition of the program was on display during the day.
