ACTIVITIES 2007-2008

1. YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

A 3-day program designed to target the issues facing young women of different cultural backgrounds today. Participants will get involved in the community through volunteering projects.

Dates: East Sydney: 11-13 January 2008

West Sydney: August 2008

2. MONTHLY COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS

Monthly community service projects in the East and West Sydney areas will provide an opportunity for cross-cultural exchange while doing something good.

Dates: East: 24 Nov; 18 Jan; 29 March; 17 Mary; 10-13 July; 20 Sept; 22 Nov

West: 1 Dec; 16 Feb; 19 Apr; 21 June; 17 Aug; 18 Oct

3. HARMONY DAY

A celebration of Australian values with afternoon tea and an exhibition of the project's success and activities.

Date: 17 July 2008

4. LINKING THE FUTURE SEMINAR

A half-day seminar for youth centre managers and persons involved with the youth of today. The seminar will showcare experiences and share learning gained from the Youth Leadership Program and the community service projects.

Date: September 2008
