RURAL DEVELOPMENT IN LEBANON.

The Australian Ambassador to Lebanon, Lyndall Sachs, launches an innovative tourism concept "Rural Routes" on June 15, 2009 at the historic city of Byblos. The project aims to encourage economic activity in all villages between Jbeil and Batroun covered by the rural route. This project gives women an opportunity to be economically active in their villages.

INCREASING TRAINING PLACES IN CENTRAL VISAYAS

In view of the Australian contribution toward education and training, the Australian Ambassador to the Philippines, Rod Smith, and the Philippine Minister of Tourism, Ace Durano, officially opened a new training facility to increase training capacity of the current project that aims to enable women from low-income families to access employment related training, work experience and jobs in tourism related sectors.
The Australian Ambassador received the appreciation of the Philippine government and community at ribbon cutting ceremonies held in Cebu.
WOMEN'S TRAINING AND INCOME GENERATION PROGRAM
Women are at the heart of every family in society. They keep the family together. They can be great organisers.
Women need to support their families. They need opportunities to develop as active participants in their community and be capable of earning income.
The aim of this program is to alleviate or reduce poverty through training programs that give women a skill they can use to generate income on their own or in collaboration with others.
